See Ya Later, Kentucky

We have finished eating our freezer meal stash, I'm working dinners around what's left in the pantry, and I've halted trips to SAMs Club. It's moving time! Time to start packing up our lives once again to move on to the next adventure! Fort Campbell was the first duty station Chris and I were at together, and it was a good 3 years. A  great  3 years, actually... Fort Campbell is where I learned how to live this Army life as a supportive wife, and how to not complain about things that cannot be controlled. I learn more about this duty every day. This is where I learned more about myself as an individual and had a tremendous amount of personal growth. This is where I went out on a limb and chose a different career path . As it turned out, I loved it! This is where I learned that your morning coffee makes you poop. (true story, people!) This is where I learned how to fold jeans in a nice, neat stack and how to fold shirts faster than I ever t...

32 Weeks

I'm officially in my 8th month of pregnancy!! It's hard to believe! I have only imagined being 8 months pregnant... and now I get to be here . And it's just about everything I thought it would be! I feel big. I eat frequently. I am emptying my bladder very frequently.  I can't reach things as well or fit through narrow spaces. And "sucking it in" is no longer cutting it. I have back aches. I have noticed tiny bit of swelling in my feet. I waddle. Just a little. My wedding ring doesn't fit.  Well, it does, it is just really hard to get on and off. So I leave it off. My hands are really stiff in the morning and feel very swollen. It goes away after getting up for awhile. My husband is pretending to have "fat pregnancy fingers" too because he forgets to put his ring on a lot. When we are in public together without our rings on, we joke that I am his girlfriend and that someday we should get married.  And...

26 Weeks

26...is that right?! I feel like time is going by very fast!! I think Ava had a growth spurt this week. I feel like my belly grew a lot in 7 days. I'm definitely feeling more round - its really a challenge to get off the couch! We are starting to take my car around town for errands since it isn't as low to the ground as Chris'. For the first time, my belly made it difficult for me to get comfortable and fall asleep last night. Ava's whole body no longer fits in one ultrasound image! I went in yesterday for a growth scan, and while it still has to go to the doctor to read, and then I won't hear the results until my 28 week appointment, I can tell she is growing just fine! Just look at that profile. :)  She was opening and closing her mouth and sticking her tongue out. The ultrasound tech said she was probably swallowing the amniotic fluid and letting her body practice what it will do when she is in the outside world. She was very active d...
